Power-Tech Engineers Inc. (PTEI) was established in 1992 by a group of former electrical utility engineers with a lifetime of experience in the planning, permitting, financing, design, construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical facilities and systems.

During its initial years, PTEI concentrated mainly on the aerospace and petrochemical industries.  In later years, opportunities for PTEI increased in the area of utility power and water infrastructure retrofit projects.  In later years, the company’s service clientele expanded to include large and small water and electric utilities in California, Nevada, Florida, Canada and Latin America.  PTEI embarked on projects that included the retrofit and modernization of pumping plants, transmission planning and design, power system studies, testing and commissioning of power plants and substations.

PTEI has evolved, providing services in Project Management, Construction Management, Quality Assurance and Quality Control, Permitting, Project Scheduling (Primavera and Microsoft), Cost Estimating, Document Management and other areas to support the successful execution of our client’s projects. PTEI has stayed on the leading edge of engineering technology by working in the field of Substation Automation and Renewable Energy development, such as solar, wind and biomass.

PTEI is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE)/ Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), certified by the City of Los Angeles Bureau of Contract Administration and is a Community Business Enterprise (CBE) and Small Business Enterprise (SBE) with the City of Los Angeles. PTEI is a Local Business under the City of Los Angeles Local Business Preference Program.  PTEI also has a specialized class “C-10” Electrical Contractor license and a General “A” Contractor’s license issued by the Contractors State License Board (CSLB).
